Bryan C Cooper Limited is a traditional family run building company.

The Company was started by Bryan C Cooper and his wife at Holwell in 1968.  The company moved into the Newland premises in Sherborne during 1990 and is still there today.

Managing Director Walter Matthews, has been with the company for over 30 years, he joined Bryan C Cooper Ltd during 1976 as a Carpenter and Joiner and eventually became the Company Contract Manager and then the Managing Director in 1987.  Since 1987 his wife, Eileen became Director/Secretary and he was later joined by his sons, Gary and Jeremy.  Gary is a City & Guilds trained joiner and Jeremy a City & Guilds trained bricklayer and stonemason.

Gary and Jeremy are being trained to eventually take over the running of the Company when Walter retires from the business.

Staff employed today have been with the company for many years, with the exception of the Company Secretary and Accounts Controller Laura Kelly, who joined the company 7 years ago.

During the past year it is true to say that an increased number of people have been extending or altering their homes rather then incur the expense of moving to another property.

Whether it is replacing a broken roof slate, fixing a chimney, or putting in a pane of glass, no job is to small for them to tackle and will be carried out with the expertise that is exercised on much bigger jobs.  We build luxury houses, large and small extensions to private and commercial properties and can offer a planning service right through to application for planning permission on behalf of their clients. 

Over the years the company has been awarded many accolades and testimonials for completed projects.  The company aim is to have satisfied clients after the work is complete and they have many customers using the company for repeat business after 25 years – this is very important in today’s economic climate. 

However, the most impressive aspect of the company is that it is a family firm offering a personal service and a real empathy for the potential concerns of their clients.  They know that customers are very often making the largest purchase of their lives.

The company’s success and longevity is really down to the staff that work for the company and their approach to the needs of the clients.  The company will continue to offer the services it has for many years.
